A peaceful resort framed by wooded mountains, Cala Mesquida is a beach-lovers' hotspot. Set close by to Cala Ratjada, Cala Mesquida is ideal for a sunshine holiday. Somewhat undiscovered by the British, it's favoured by German holidaymakers. Once a fishing village, Cala Mesquida has flourished over the years and now takes on a more resort-type feel where you'll find a beautiful beach backed by pine trees. You'll find soft, gently-shelving sands and shallow calm waters perfect for a little paddle. The beach itself is dotted with sunloungers and sunshades, however if the sun gets too hot and you feel like taking in some holiday activities watersports, golf and horse-riding are just some of the activities which are sure to keep you busy. You'll find just a few souvenir shops and minimarkets to browse around, but apart from that there's little else to intrude on the peace. For more in the way of activity, Cala Ratjada close by has a good supply of eating spots, bars which stay open until late and shops. When you feel like exploring, the amazing stalactites and stalagmites of the Arta Caves are within easy reach.
